Founding members of Olympia 2012 are citizen volunteers. We are young and old, long time residents and newcomers, liberals, conservatives, progressives and moderates. We are employers and employees, retirees, and parents. In short, we are Olympia! We are deeply passionate about improving our unique downtown. Our current Steering Committee includes the following individuals, and as we identify specific talent necessary to strengthen the Committee, we will invite them to join.
Troy Bussey, Jr.
Chemical engineer and geological engineer who has worked on cleaning up contaminated properties and other environmental issues since 1994. Olympia resident since 2000.
Cheryl Duryea
Former state regulator, practicing attorney since 1977 with public finance and business expertise, owner of downtown business. Olympia-area resident for 27 years.
Sharon Foster
YMCA staff director, state director YMCA Youth and Government Program, Lobbyist 1983-2004, now retired. Olympia resident for 27 years.

Jackie Barrett-Sharar
Raising our four children in Olympia since 1993. Retired, nationally regarded health care executive, business development, sales, marketing, strategic and quality improvement planning and operations. Married to Michael J. Barrett, a biomedical engineer at St. Peter’s.
Peter Stroble
Director of Sales & Marketing for a national manufacturing organization based in Shelton, WA; 4-year citizen of Olympia; husband and father of three children ages 0-5 years.
